Is there any word on if the Beats Solo 2 work with the iphone 7 or will there be a software update for the Solo 2 to eventually work or will be have to use to lightening adapter? Would prefer for the booth tooth to still work and not need that W1.. since it is your product. Just purchased these Beats. I guess I can sell them but would like to know what my options are going to be.
The iPhone 7 wont have an issue connecting to your beats solo 2. You would just have to go into settings and "manually connect" to them via your iPhone 7.
For peace of mind: Apple includes a lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter, in the box of your iPhone 7.
(The W1 Chip was implemented mainly for the future of wireless connectivity within apple products. The new wireless apple AirPods and the newer beats models come with the W1 chip which combined with the iPhone 7, allows for super quick connectivity/ease of use for everyone)
